1. Data Controller
The Soundbridge Group (trading as SLE Radio) is the data controller for all personal data collected through our Services.

2. What Data We Collect
Website — sleradio.com
- Usage and analytics data (pages visited, session duration, browser/device type) via Firebase Analytics
- Chat messages submitted through the live chat feature, stored in Firebase Firestore
- Music submission data: name, email address, artist name, track title, and audio files
- Cookie preferences stored in your browser's local storage
- Station and theme preferences stored locally on your device
SLE Radio: Pulse App
- Playback activity (which stations are listened to, for how long)
- Device information (OS version, device type) for crash reporting and compatibility
- Notification preferences if push notifications are enabled
- Any account data if you create a profile (username, email)
- App analytics via Firebase Analytics
Online Studio
- DJ/presenter login credentials (username and hashed password)
- Broadcast session logs (time, duration, station)
- Audio streams processed in real time — we do not record or store your broadcast audio unless explicitly stated
- IP address for connection authentication and security purposes
3. How We Use Your Data
- To deliver and improve our radio services and apps
- To process and respond to music submissions
- To authenticate studio presenters and manage live broadcasts
- To provide and moderate the live chat feature
- To analyse listener behaviour and improve user experience
- To send service-related notifications (with your consent)
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK / EU GDPR)
- Legitimate interests — operating and improving the Services, security monitoring
- Consent — analytics cookies, marketing notifications
- Contract — studio presenter accounts, music submission agreements
- Legal obligation — retaining records where required by law
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services which may process your data on our behalf:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, real-time database, analytics, crash reporting. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- AzuraCast — self-hosted radio automation and stream management. No listener data is shared externally.
- PayPal — donation processing. Donations are handled entirely by PayPal's platform and subject to their privacy policy.
- Content Delivery Networks — audio streams may be delivered via CDN providers for performance and reliability.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
Our website uses cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:
- Essential — audio player state, chat session authentication. These cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.
- Analytics — Firebase Analytics (only activated with your consent).
- Preferences — theme, station selection, cookie consent choice.
You can manage your cookie choices via the cookie consent banner shown on your first visit to the website.
7. Data Retention
- Chat messages — retained for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted
- Music submissions — retained while the track is in our library, or until removal is requested
- Analytics data — aggregated data retained for up to 26 months (Firebase default)
- Studio session logs — retained for up to 12 months for security and scheduling purposes
- Account data — retained until account deletion is requested
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent given at any time, without affecting prior processing

9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Passwords are stored in hashed form and connections to the studio are encrypted. No internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers (e.g. Google Firebase) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the relevant supervisory authority.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
