In an era where cultural pride is becoming increasingly recognised, Sinead Campbell’s new single “Stand” is a beautiful reflection of self-empowerment that presents passion,  warmth and profound symbolism.

Sinead Campbell, Bradford-based soul singer, is to release her first EP under her new  musical project. Sinead has previously supported both Basement Jaxx and Soul II  Soul, as well as playing festivals such as The Great Escape and Live at Leeds.  “Stand” is the lead single from Sinead Campbell’s upcoming EP “Sankofa”, due to be  released later this year.

The track is blend of compelling messages mixed with soulful, golden vocals that  radiate optimism. Sinead’s style is akin to the likes of Green Tea Peng, with an overlay of  spiritual lyrics that provoke thought, backed by intimate piano chords and relaxing  strings.

Sinead has expressed testifying authenticity within her lyricism throughout the track,  through narrative, based around her own reflections on the exploration of her heritage,  roots and how this can be displayed creatively. Sinead has both Jamaican and Irish  heritage, which has become the main discourse throughout her artist process. Sinead  has also talked about her journey with healing and describes that this has shaped the  whole EP. Themes of ancestry, identity and cultural pride are to be weaved through the  upcoming body of work.

Sinead explains “This song is about becoming clear on who you are, what you stand for,  and having the courage to live in alignment with that unapologetically. It’s about values,  integrity, and claiming your space in the world with authenticity and real power. ‘Stand’  reflects this new phase and showing up as my full self, both in my music and in my life.”

“Stand”, not only streamlines and integrates jazz styles into a contemporary track but also celebrates individuality and reflecting on one’s uniqueness.

Sinead is due to play shows this month at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds (8th June),  Polar bear Music Club Hull (10th June) and Band On The Wall in Manchester (26th June).
