The newest installment of The Legend of Zelda franchise is coming next month, with a new world, new emotions, new abilities, and so much more!
Tears of the Kingdom and Zelda fans have been given a gameplay demonstration of some of the new mechanics and the new world to explore, the most catching part of which is the floating islands that are in the sky, as well as the new abilities Link will be able to use on his journey. Fuse, a simple but game-changing addition to Links’ arsenal of weapons, is one of these new abilities. The ability allows Link to attach items that can be picked up by him, such as a rock, mushroom, or other weapon. Now you can make weapons that are very bad into decent ones by adding something else to them. As shown in the game description, they used a tree branch that only does one damage and added a rock, which significantly increased the total potential of the spear. Another one was the duo of a long stick and a pitchfork, which created a very long spear that could be used far away from the enemy. The last two are the shield and mushroom duo, which make a cloud of smoke that makes the enemy lose sight of you when they hit the shield; the other is the bow and arrow that can be used with a monster eye to home in on things in the air, so aiming is not a problem. Another ability shown is Ultrahand, which lets you attach things like logs. This will give you a creative way of making movement very exciting and fresh since these types of “vehicles” will not show up in the world; they must be crafted by yourself.
The example they use in the game is making a boat or platform to be able to cross areas of water by combining things. With the latest hands-on gameplay on YouTube, we are shown new ways and discover things that weren’t shown in the latest trailer, like now items as large as an iron spiked ball that are 4x taller than a link can be stored on the back of your shield.
We have seen new ways to use ultrahand that can be used to make new tools to travel around the world, like an eagle-shaped stone that, when combined with fans or rockets, can send you moving in the air. Koroks and Korok seeds are back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is a double-edged sword for most people who have played the first game.
It’s a necessity to upgrade your storage capacity, but there are so many that it’s a huge grind to collect them all. The prize for getting all 900 Korok seeds is an item from Hestu’s gift, which, when you look up, will make you very disappointed. It only has comedic value; it has no advantage or game upgrade. Cooking is still in the game; make new recipes with different items to make upgraded food to help you on your adventure. The release date for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is May 12th.
