In today’s “In the Spotlight” I have a real treat for you, and something I personally find really interested to know more about. One of the hosts on SLE, Sarah Rogers from the “Midnight Morning Show”

Hi Sarah and thank you so much for having this chat with us.

How did the “Midnight Morning Show” come about?

The Midnight Morning Show came along after meeting Joe Through Cristian Machado. I was helping Joe with some of his live streams and due to illness of a guest I had filled in and Jay happened to be watching and reached out to ask if I would be interested in doing a show on the station. I’ve wanted to do Radio since I was a kid and so I immediately jumped on the opportunity!!

Was this your first radio show to be on/host?

The Midnight Morning show is my first solo radio show! I previously had co-hosted the Easy Limbo show with Joe, and I have Podcasts and Live Stream shows that I do but this is my first venture into radio!

I know you also have/had a podcast. Which is more technically difficult to do and which is more difficult for you personally to do?

Technically speaking, the live streams are the hardest, because there’s the coordination of multiple people. Radio is definitely more difficult personally because it’s basically me talking to an empty room lol. With the podcasts and live streams there is more interaction and usually multiple people involved so it’s easier to keep conversation going and find things to talk about.

What are your hopes and dreams for your shows for the future? anything planned?

I’m really hoping to bring more mainstream artists onto the programs and just continue growing. I do have a few things that I’m working on right now but I don’t want to spoil the surprise!

SLE is currently looking for new Hosts, what advice would you give to all those that want too but might be a bit too shy?

The best advice I could give is just to jump in! I suffer from horrible anxiety, so any sort of speaking or performing is just excruciating for me, no matter how often I do it I still get so nervous. There’s never going to be a “perfect time” to take action, so go for it! Pick a topic, genre, or general idea and jump in.

What would you like to say to all artists out there that might want their music on your show or even might want an interview from you live?

My DMs are always open, and I love to hear from artists that want to submit their music or discuss interview options. My best advice for artists looking for airplay is to invest the time in making sure your music is well mixed and mastered. When I receive tunes that aren’t it’s usually not something that is going to get air time simply because the quality isn’t great, even when the song has potential. Invest in your art!

What is the one thing you would like to tell all your listeners out there?

I appreciate you all so much!! Thank you for listening and especially thanks for your patience as I occasionally have to cancel shows for my kid’s activities! I love you guys!

Listening to all that Indie music, what is the one thing you would like the Music industry to know?

The music industry needs to know how amazing some of these artists are! Stop focusing so much on the superficial aspects and give these amazing musicians a chance!
