In The Spotlight with Abby K

Written by on June 24, 2021

She plays the Bass, has a tour coming up and She Knows how to Rock the Rock!

To day’s guest “In the Spotlight” is none other than ABBY K!
Thank you so much for joining me in the spotlight!

1, In your bio on Twitter it says multi-instrumentalist. Which was the first instrument you played and is that still your fave?

My first instrument I picked up was a guitar back in 2012 after attending my first concert, KISS. I very quickly made my way to the bass and as soon as I picked it up, I never wanted to put it down. I added in piano, a little bit of drums, and I started to take singing seriously. Now, I am a bassist and lead vocalist in my band, Abby K!

2, 2020 QCA Female Rocker of the year, how did that feel?

It was such an honor to receive the Queen City Award this year for Best Female Rock Artist! I had known about these awards for a few years, but I never imagined myself getting to the point that I could win! It really caught me off guard when I realized I was nominated so you can imagine how it felt to win!

3, I see you have a Tour coming up, what are you most looking forward to?

Yes, we are going on The Flash Tour this summer. 5 dates ranging from New Jersey to South Carolina. We were supposed to tour last summer, but everything shut down and we were finally able to reschedule it! We are so excited to tour for the first time this summer and we hope it leads to many more in the future.

4, What is the one thing you want to tell your fans?

Thank you so much for supporting me. I couldn’t be out on the road without you guys. Thank you to everyone who has ever liked a post, streamed a song, bought merch or bought a ticket. If you would like to support me, you can follow me on all social media @abbykrocks and visit my website!

5, What is the one thing you would like to tell the Music Industry?

A few years ago, I struggled to get any gigs at all. If I could get a gig, they would ask me to pay in order to play. Thank you to the ones who took a chance on me and believed in me, because for the first time ever, I have every weekend, and some weekdays booked for 5 months straight!

Thank you so much for doing this, and I hope you will have a great summer on the road!

And YOU can find Abby K here
